My name is Esteban Smits. I’m a developer, architect,  friend and motivator. I  work  in the Dallas Area for an accounting firm . This site , it’s content and opinions are all my own. I write about development, new technology,  gadgets, integration, robotics and my opinion on the social\technology landscape  as a whole.

My Background

I started work in the Dallas area on with a hosting startup from Florida that wanted some development chops; we made around 200 websites and around 30 applications from a variety of different  industries over the course of 2 1/2 years. Moved on to build up one of our larger clients  fostering their growth from a 3 man operation to a  60 + staff \16 million annual operation.  Continued my journey in a growing division of a Fortune 100 company, cutting 10% of its cost year to year for the last 3 years consecutively.  Today , I support  companies going to the Cloud, proper architecture and guide business hands to understand the value of doing things well.

Non Sequiturs

I personally didn’t have a computer until I  was 19 and enrolled in college as a CompSci major, but I believed computing was going to change everything. My brother made me copy code out of old magazines to make programs, but at the time I  had no interest in computers (other than playing Archon on his Atari).   I built my first stand alone application at the age of 20 with 2 friends from college , a POS inventory system for a  hardware store.  I have a personal relationship with my creator, and  I have been married for 22 years.
